I am very pleased to welcome author Gwen Plano today on my blog as she tours with her new book
Books, like children, are raised by a village, a community. All those who stand in the shadows and cheer us on with their insights and encouragement help make our dreams a reality. A loving partner, friends or family members, beta readers, and especially book clubs like the Rave Reviews Book Club assist us in reaching our goal.
I am ever so grateful to each of the villagerswho reached out to help me as I wrote THE CHOICE. A simple “thank you” does not begin to express my sentiments. I can truthfully state that were it not for you, this book would not have been written.
Of all who helped me, there’s one person who especially urged me on – author John W. Howell. He checked in with me almost every week to remind me to keep writing, even while I dealt with medical challenges. I dutifully followed John’s instruction and then one fateful day, he asked me to send the manuscript to him. To my surprise, the document was over 70,000 words.
Woodrow T. Wilson said, “Friendship is the only cement that will ever hold the world together.” I suspect that is true, but I know it to be so for writers who are trying to piece together a story.
Growing up in Southern California, Gwen Plano loved learning. She earned four degrees and taught and served in universities and colleges across the country and in Japan. Now retired, she is focused on writing. Gwen’s first book, Letting Go into Perfect Love, is a memoir. Her second book, The Contract, is a thriller co-authored by John W. Howell. Gwen lives in the Midwest with her husband, and when she is not writing, she is traveling, usually to see one of her four children and many grandchildren.
