Day 184! ………………How Did We Get Here? (135)

“Boko Haram Spokeperson: Chibok Girls May Soon Regain Freedom”

These latest news keeps telling us that the girls will soon be released, and I want to continue to believe it. It doesn’t matter what game Boko Haram is playing, I know that the girls will be released. So, I will continue to pray for that release.

“Military doubts Boko Haram ceasefire, expects deadlier attacks”

While the talks continue, the Nigerian Military has suddenly started to doubt the sincerity of Boko Haram. They should have known not to trust those murderers. They should instead prepare to root them out by force now that it has become clear that Boko Haram has taken them for a ride. Boko Haram did not start their assaults on Nigeria to end up walking away empty handed. They came to destroy, cow the people, and rule. They will no stop their campaign until they succeed. It is left for the Military and the government to know when enough is enough.

“Negotiate or crush Boko Haram, Kwankwaso tells Jonathan”

Just yesterday, I was urging the Nigerian government to go all out and root Boko Haram out of Nigeria, girls or no girls. The government should by now know that the blood suckers will never stop until they achieve their agenda. And that agenda is to rule Nigeria. If they are left to continue at the rate they are going, they will only continue to inflict unnecessary damage to the country and people. They should be stopped now.

“Boko Haram sponsorship: No secret trial for Ndume”

We have always known that Boko Haram has sponsors in Nigeria. This man here is not the only one. The government should find them, all of them, and make them pay for the extreme loss they are causing.

(We will continue.)

Day 183! ………………How Did We Get Here? (134)

“Nigeria Says Chad Facilitates Talks on Kidnapped Girls’ Release”

We will keep hoping and praying as long as they keep talking with those murderers, but we suspect already that they may be playing games with all of us. I can imagine them poking fun at the whole idea, laughing and swearing at us. If at the end of all this negotiating nothing happens, I will hope the Nigerian Military will go all out and root them out with force, girls or no girls. I think the time has come to end it all.

“Boko Haram Reportedly Abducts 60 Women And Girls In Nigeria, Even As Ceasefire Deal Still”

How can we be talking about freeing the girls, and a ceasefire when the criminals are still out at their usual game. We have come to know that there are now faction among them, splinter groups who disobey orders and try to outdo one another, as if their game of killing, maiming and beheading is a game of chess. So now, we don’t have to deal with one group, but who knows with how many of them.

“MootedSouth Africa returns seized $15m to Nigeria”

This is just by the way. For peace sake, South Africa has shown maturity to Nigeria by returning their stolen money. No matter what Nigeria says the money was for, we know better. The excuse that the money was for arms is because they were caught.

(We will continue.)

Day 182! ………………How Did We Get Here? (133)

“Nigeria’s Boko Haram ‘abducts more women and girls’”

These criminals cannot be serious. What kind of truce did they make to warrant this continued senseless assault to our psych and intelligence like this? I sometimes wish that we had a man at the helms of affaires who can use the force required to root out those scoundrels. What nonsense! What kind of sick joke is this? For sometime, I have been praying and hoping that this drama will be over. A friend told me recently that if Boko Haram accepted a truce, it could be because they needed time to recruit and reorganize. With all these nonsense going on, I believe that my friend is right. How can such blood tasty louts accept a ceasefire, knowing what they do and how they relish what they do…

“Nigeria president set to announce re-election bid: source”

Look at this next heading. Again, one would think that the Nigerian president is also playing his own game, by telling the world about a truce so that he can make this announcement, without further backlash from all and sundry. Sure, that could be his game too, while lives are at stake. This is also a sick game. When will they learn that nothing stays the same for ever. This agony will also come to an end one way or the other. When that happens, how can all these nasty players look themselves in the face?

“Nigeria ‘ceasefire’ with Boko Haram in doubt after fresh unrest”

Of course, Boko Haram is playing games with all of us, a sick game, but they will lose in the end. For as long as the God we serve lives, they will lose, and will pay for their atrocities.

(We will continue.)

Day 181! ………………How Did We Get Here? (132)

“Nigeria Truce Is Shaky, No News of Abducted Girls”

“Nigeria minister ‘optimistic’ Boko Haram will free girls”

“US says talks to free Nigerian girls ongoing”

“Nigeria talks with Boko Haram but no sign of girls’ release”

Although we have not yet seen the girls free, the hope of seeing them freed is still alive. The above headlines show that hope of not dead. We must continue to pray without letting go. Those girls will be released. The hands holding them is tiring and soon, even those hands will be happy to let the girls go. It will not be too long now.

(We will continue.)

Day 180! ………………How Did We Get Here? (131)

“In Fight to Stop Ebola, Nigeria Got Right Everything America Got Wrong”

Today, let me celebrate one good thing that Nigeria has been able to achieve which will be a lesson to the whole world. In a country like Nigeria where nothing works, to be able to contain this deadly disease is a miracle. So, God bless Dr. Stella Ameyo Adadevoh who has been credited with saving Nigeria from this catastrophe. May her courageous and patriotic souls rest in perfect peace. I hope Nigeria will immortalize her name, the way Nigeria knows how to do; a street should be named after her, the day she died to be observed and marked as a national day, a holiday, and anything else the government want to throw in. She deserves all the honor we can give her. She is our hero.

“How 1 doctor saved Nigeria from Ebola catastrophe”

Dr. Stella Ameyo Adadevo, you are our hero!

Day 179! ………………How Did We Get Here? (130)

“Nigerians await news on missing girls”
“Nigerian elders question Boko Haram ‘ceasefire’ deal”
“Nigeria declared Ebola free after 42 days with no new cases – WHO”
“Nigeria saw off Ebola but fraud and Boko Haram plague country”
“Nigeria declared Ebola-free, holds lessons for others”

Headlines, headlines, headlines. Contrasting headlines, conflicting headlines. Indeed, how can Nigeria beat ebola and not Boko Haram?
Questions, doubts, unanswered questions. And still, I will ask for caution, for patience, for prayers that our doubts will be proven wrong, and that our patience and prayers will pay off, and that our girls will return.

(We will continue.)

Day 178! ………………How Did We Get Here? (129)

“Nigerians Doubtful Of Girls’ Release After Boko Haram ‘truce’ Breached”

Tomorrow isTuesday. I will like to wait until then to know what happens. The promise is that the girls will be released tomorrow. Let tomorrow come, and let there be no disappointments. Until tomorrow.

“Nigeria Boko Haram blamed for raids despite truce claim”

This other headline seems to indicate the contrary to what we are all expecting to happen tomorrow, but I will not lose hope until tomorrow.

The internet is agog today with news about the release of our girls. I am equally excited, but as usual, I am a very cautious person, so i will wait until I see the girls out before singing. As we wait, please let us continue praying, and never stop. God is on His throne watching, but the devil is relentless in spoiling.

Day 176! ………………How Did We Get Here? (127)

“Nigerian girls could be released Tuesday”

Next Tuesday is alright. Let us keep our fingers crossed.

Day 175! ………………How Did We Get Here? (126)

“Nigeria and Boko Haram ‘agree ceasefire”

I was just on the point of wondering out loud about Boko Haram’s absence from the news recently when this headline hit me this morning. Again this is great news. The news also stated that negotiations are going on, with the release of the girls, top on the agenda. The president of Cameroon did all in his power to get his own people out and safe. We expect the president of Nigeria to do the same. He should find out from the president of Cameroon how he did it, and do the same. We pray that this cease fire will result in nothing less than the release of the girls.

“Nigeria says reaches deal with Boko Haram over abducted girls”

This second headline issued the same day, October 17, 2014, seems to tell us that a deal has been reached with Boko Haram for the release of the girls. I want to believe this, and because I believe, I will simply say a short prayer that it is true. The story says that the remaining girls are safe and unharmed. I want to believe that too, but I will not shout my alleluias until I actually see them free. So as we wait, let us not forget to continue praying.

(We will continue.)
