Oh! … What Pain! …

Only God knows what these girls are going through! … No one will ever know unless one is in their shoes.

These faceless desert rats are not even human. They claim that Western education is a sacrilege to their religion, but they go around armed to the teeth with Western technology. They have no respect for property, because they never had any to begin with, so they feel nothing when they destroy and burn public property. They are not even Nigerians. If they are, they will not be out there hunting and killing their fellow Nigerians. They and their sponsors and supporters should know that there is a law of repercussion, that what you sow is what you reap, that what they do today will come back and haunt them later. They, who kill with the gun, die by the gun. That they are hoping and fighting to die as martyrs shows off their ignorance. The devil also has martyrs and saints. It is only the devil that is so blood thirsty. Only the devil drinks blood, wallows in blood, takes blood baths. In whose name are they really committing these atrocities? …. Surely, not in God’s name. Not in the name of the God that I serve.

The belief in a deity is a personal choice. It is not something you force or bully someone into. These people should take a good look at themselves, and answer a few questions. What is so attractive in the way you live, the way you treat your women, the way you force your granddaughters into marriage with their grandfathers, the way they tear these girls up and throw them away into the streets light dirty rags, the way you commit these senseless and atrocious acts with religion as your justification, as your validation … you pedophiles!!! Yet, you act as righteous rogues, giving your daughters away as gifts, and accepting these girls as if they are sacrificial animals. You supporters of evil, will you give away your own babies to old demented men as gifts? They claim that their god ordained their actions. Seriously, which God again are we talking about? Not the one I serve.

Our girls will never be the same again. They will never be able to recount their experience. If they are ever returned, they will be returning as shells, zombies, and brain washed girls, nothing like who they were. But we want them back, in whatever shape, in whatever condition, because, our own God, the one we serve, the only God, will restitute. Bring back our girls.

The American Are Coming! And The British Trailing Them.

Yes, the British made a move only when America took notice. And now they are in Nigeria trying to protect what? Their investments? The British sowed the seed of insurgency in Nigeria. They colonized and ruled Nigeria for many years. They understood Nigeria and knew the Nigerians like the palm of their hands. They aligned with the powerful Emirs of the North to divide and rule Nigeria. When leaving, they left power into the hands of the powerful Emir of the North by cooking the census in favor of the North. They made the powerful Emir of the North believe that he owned and could govern the whole of Nigeria as he did the North, serfs under their feudal Lords. The North still believes this today, which is why, when their control of power is challenged, they organize and arm their largely poor and hungry peasants to go after the rest of the country.

Boko Haram is not the first of organized onslaught against non-Northerners in the North. An onslaught like this caused the Nigerian civil war. After the war, we have had many more up-rising of the North against the South. All of them, with the same agenda, but with different names. The Maitasines at different times were incited and supported by their clerics every Friday to go out, kill, burn and destroy. Every few years, these uprisings took place, the rich and powerful defending their status, by using the poor and hungry to fight their cause. That is the way the British wanted it, to have Nigeria in constant and continual meltdown, so that they will continue to suck Nigeria dry through their protected.

But now, the Americans are coming, the Chinese too, so the British make their move. There is too much at stake for them if they do not make a move. The British have so deeply laid the foundation of discord in Nigeria that today, a non-Northern Nigerian works on contract in the North, at least at State levels. This is to make sure that the non-Northerner stays on the job long enough to train their own indigene to take over the job. The North would rather import expatriates on contracts to head government departments than hire qualified Southerners. It is in the North that we still have foreigners as Vice Chancellors of our Universities.

The British left Nigeria a damaged country, a country that can only survive if the most powerful nations that make up Nigeria go their separate ways. The North can never win their war against the whole country, but their constant quest has set the country back into the dark ages.

This is an option which America should consider if they really want to help Nigeria to survive. If Boko Harm’s menace continues, and reaches the South, as they threaten they would, the next war will be devastating, and will tear the country up by force. But Nigeria does not have to go to war to settle the fate of her powerful nations.

They Have Stripped the Nation Naked

For as long as I can remember, the Nigerian poor, which is 99.9% of the Nigerian population, of different levels of poverty, have been smiling and suffering in silence. They call it, shufering and shmiling! This large portion of the population; the dis-inherited, and dis-franchised poor have watched the few rich flaunt their wealth, have this wealth thrown at their faces, rubbed it on their faces like mud, and have taken it smiling and suffering.

The Nigeria’s emptiness and hollowness are so well concealed to the outside world that it took the abduction of 276 school girls for the world to see us for who we are. Boko Haram and their supporters simply took their hatred a notch higher than what they have been releasing on the population for years. Only this time they bit more than they could chew. They never expected the world to take notice. They have killed and destroyed, and continue to kill and destroy without anyone challenging them. Even this current abduction went un-challenged for weeks before the world took notice. Otherwise, this latest action would have gone down as their usual cowardly actions. These people are desert rats, who come out of their holes at night to attack, kill, and burn sleeping and un- armed men, women, and children.

How does it not occur to them, or to their sponsors and supporters, that their onslaught can escalate into a civil war? If the few rich want a civil war, which I am sure that they do not, or perhaps I am wrong, it will not affect them. They also make money from wars, and they will not be there to fight it, nor will their children. They are now covertly paying for the killings and they will also covertly pay for the war if it breaks out.

Before the scourge of Boko Haram, the Nigeria’s poor dealt on a daily basis, and still deal with so much deprivation that Boko Haram’s assaults are like buzzing mosquitoes to their ears. These are people who live constantly with no social services; fluctuating power service, no water, or good roads. I traveled from Lagos to Onitsha, sometime ago, on a Thursday and arrived Onitsha on a Friday. This was a journey of eight hours which took me two days. The journey took place on what is known as a Federal Road, a road supposedly built and maintained by the Federal government. This road was washed away by flood and it took the government more than six months to take notice.

To have running water in your house means to build yourself a bore hole. Same with electricity, you have to have a generator; some have more than one, or an inverter.  The Solar System is yet to take root. Only the rich can afford to have Solar Panels, if only for show, because they have regular light. Moreover, allowing Solar to pervade the Nigerian market may be under cutting their already well-established generator monopoly. This same monopoly is the same reason that steady electricity has eluded Nigeria.

The Name of the Game is Corruption.

The mention of corruption in my last post was quite superficial. The problem of corruption in Nigeria is so deep that today, it has the country in a strangle hold. This is the country that cannot manage her social services, not one. Everything the government touches dies. Just to mention a few of them:

The Nigeria Airways: Nigeria does not have a national carrier, because the Nigerian airways died many years ago, and has since not been, and cannot be revived. Unlike the other many ill-fated services, no one offered or bought over the air ways services. This is because there was nothing to be gained from old rotten planes, no one wanted them for free.

The Nigerian Telecommunications Limited (NITEL): One morning we woke up to the news that NITEL now belonged to one small boy who believed that he owned Nigeria, a national treasure! How did that happen?  Where were we when this happened? For the first time in Nigeria, there was such an outcry that the so called new owner of NITEL beat back into retreat. Since then, every new administration has mulled over how to give NITEL, this sitting giant, away to some fat cow without raising too much dust. NITEL is dead and can never be revived. We know that, they know that too, but it also a national treasure, and cannot be disposed of without its proceeds going into national development.

What about the Ajaokuta Steel Plant, another crouching giant, government controlled, never produced any steel product, billions down the drain, and more billions still. The government believes that by throwing oil money at projects, these projects will miraculously control themselves and survive. Those buying over these projects, the nationals, always ended up bringing in foreign experts to man and manage the projects. Why? Because they are only money throwers, with no expertise for what they are throwing money at. These foreigners come in to find out that it is usually not about money at all. It is about the people, their mind set, and their fear of being left behind. Nigerians like to toe the line. There is this invisible line that everyone must toe. No one is allowed to cross it, unless everyone crosses it at once.

This explains why we have no middle class in Nigeria. We have the rich and the poor. Of course, among the rich, there are different levels of wealth, as well as different levels of poverty among the poor.

Take another example, Electricity: This is the case of the government sabotaging itself. For how can the government throw so much money into power in Nigeria, and met with consistent failure? This is because the same government under cuts itself by allowing the money barons, the rich within and without the government, to import other power sources like generators, inverters to undermine the government’s efforts, and to engage in sabotaging power lines to frustrate the whole nation.  No nation can survive without electricity; and no nation can survive on generators ….

(This discussion continues. I decided never to post more than 500 words at any given time. I know that people are busy and have no time for long posts. I do not like long posts myself.)

Should Heads Not Fall?!

In civilized countries, when things go terribly wrong as we are witnessing in Nigeria, heads will fall. The governor of the States where these nefarious actions are taking place, will step down, or be forced to do so. The President of such a country will be impeached and forced to step down. Not in Nigeria. The Boko Haram marauders know that Nigeria is governed by spineless bull dogs, who can bark, but cannot bite.

The marauders have for year dared the Nigerian government to touch them, to do something that will show that the government can actually stop them, but they have come to know also that the government is so corrupt that they can do nothing for fear of being exposed. They know that no one will dare touch them or do more than bark.

Why was the President reluctant about asking for outside help?  Because he and his well-chosen collaborators do not want outsiders to see how ugly things really are. These people are living in glass houses, oblivious of the outside world, partying and eating caviar… failing to see the cracking roof over their heads. This is what corruption does. It robs people of their morality, their good judgment, their spirituality, their dignity, their everything. Nigeria today is an amoral country.

Ask the clerk in a government office for your file, and be ready to grease, that is what they call it, to grease the palm, to bribe to get what is yours by right. Be stopped at a road block by a police officer, and be ready to wash, that is what they call it, to wash your car for them, meaning to bribe them for owning and driving a car. In Nigeria, you celebrate a new car, or wash a new car by blessing it, praying over it, and sometimes entertaining friends for attending the ceremony. So the Police man asks for his share of this satire if the car is new, or appears to be new.

Find yourself at the airport, whether traveling out or returning, and be ready to buy your way through.  It doesn’t matter whether you are carrying contraband or not. If you don’t want delays, you better pay. Bribery, the mother of corruption has eaten so deep into the fabrics of the society that I doubt if Nigeria will ever survive it. I started calling bribery service charge whenever I was confronted with it. My thinking being that if that is what it takes to get things done as at when due, then so be it. Does that make it right? Of course not, but it seems the whole nation have developed and live with that mindset. What hope for Nigeria?

So while the governing class live in their glass houses, leading the corruption band wagon, stealing billions and getting away with it, making corruption the norm, so normal that if one is in a position to demand and take bride and does not, that person is looked upon as a fool.

I Cry For You My Country

Today, I was glued to news about those missing girls, from Borno, Nigeria, and I cried with the First Lady of Nigeria, even though, I was not sure we were crying for the same reason. I listened to world news, CNN, read news from the Nigerian newspapers, and everywhere you look, the story is the same. The Nigerian government does not know where the girls are, they have no clue who has them, and according to the news, they are not negotiating with faceless marauders, murderers, and spineless bullies.

Those who know are silent. Waiting for Nigeria to burst?! Because she will eventually burst! That is what I know for sure. Right now, with this new twist in the governing class’s show of nonchalance or shall we call it show of incompetence … what can anyone do? Their thinking is as clear as crystal … No one can touch us, fault us or challenge us … We are above the law … we are the law … we own this country … woe on anyone who dares think differently, or who dare raise a voice against us … if no one likes it here, they should leave, migrate, get lost, disappear, or we will disappear them!

Yes, that is where we are today. A country where everyone is afraid of everyone else. Anyone could be a spy. It could be your brother, could even be your mother or father, man eats man, so long as they are paid to eat their own fetuses, all is fair in this battle of the survival of the fittest. To survive, anything goes.

The country that has been sold for a bowl of porridge … for pittance … take what you want and just give me my cut … They want to sell our girls … the ones they kidnapped? … to whom? … to a people in bondage … they are all in bondage, the fighters, fighting for a cause that they do not understand, fighting and hoping it will free them from their bondage, fighting for masters that they do not know, for faceless masters, fatted and waiting to be feasted upon by worms, for so shall they all end.

The very day you seized those girls, you already sold them. After three weeks of bondage, what do you think they have become humans? No! You have nothing to sell, nothing, but it will become something only if they are returned. Until then, you have nothing … you have lost everything … not that you had anything to begin with, only now you are worse off. Your big Ogas, will remain big, they have stolen so much to last them THEIR live time (that is if they will live out their live time), but you … their killer ants, their killer gnats, will always remain and die poor, so will your whole generation with you. The day will come when all of this will come to an end. Do not doubt it, for it is written that everything that has a beginning must have an end. You have been warned, and it will come to pass.

An Ode to the 276 School Girls Abducted in Nigeria

Which way Nigeria?! What else can go wrong?!  As if you are not messed up enough… they have to add this to your list of ugliness, greed, and incompetence. How has the mighty fallen!!!

Gone were the days when you were known as the Giant of Africa. You had resources (you still have even though some think it is their private property), you have manpower. You were the envy of the Black world, and of the world at large. People rushed to you for their piece of the cake. They still do, but today, with malice, odio, and vengeance. You are hated worldwide for your wealth and for how you waste this wealth.

Your children hate you for what you have become, a wasted country, where foreigners come to take and leave nothing in return.  And you collude with them for peanuts. They are killing you from the inside like a cancer worm, draining you of blood.

All your rulers ever cared for was everyone to themselves. In fact, you have no ruler at all but many kings. All your children are kings, no subject. Their greed is killing you softly. No one cares for anyone. Where are your stolen children? Where are your girls that were snatched from their beds at night in their sleep?

You cannot cover this up! Shame on you, the ruling class… shame on you who are behind this. Boko Haram cannot operate in Nigeria in vacuum. They have support, they have sponsors, and the sponsors know themselves. No one has ever been brought to book for any malefaction done in Nigeria, and no one will this time… the killings, the hired killers, the body snatchers, the daylight robberies, the greed!… the greed!!… the greed!!!

We know who they are. The Holy cows, the fat cows, the born to rule who claim that Nigeria will never have peace unless they rule.  The ones who are so rich from sucking the country dry.  You see them with flowing abadas, waddling around with arms spread out as sign of having arrived, sign of good living, sign of wealth. Wealth from doing what?  Wealth from robbing the country.

It is not enough that they have robbed the country of what belongs to all, now they are robbing the country of her daughters, knowing that they will get away with it. Haven’t they gotten away with murder before?

The cockroach told her babies to be patient that what is hot will eventually become cold. Nigeria, the day is coming when you all who have bled this country, who are bleeding this country dry, will pay!  Everything that has a beginning must have an end. And the end for you all, both past and present, both overt and covert, will be worse than hell. Our people say that you do not offend the land, because the land is sacred, and the land has a way of coming back to take its revenge. What has a beginning must have an end. You have been warned. Repent! Live and let’s live.
