Day 108! ………………How Did We Get Here? (49)

The President of the Cameroon knows exactly what to do when it comes to taking control of his armed forces. In the wake of Boko Haram’s attack in the Cameroon a fews days ago, and the abduction of the Vice President’s wife and her house girl, the President of the Cameroon promptly dismissed the top commanders of the region where this took place. Has anyone heard anything about the President of Nigeria firing any Military officer since Boko Haram’s onslaught in Nigeria? Of course not, sign that he has lost control of his armed forces who are now holding him in a choke-hold.

The generals decry all sorts of lack as reasons for their inaction; their boys are out numbered by Boko Haram, or are deserting, their arms are inferior to those used by Boko Harma, even though Boko Haram’s arms are those looted from the army during attack on army and police barracks. If the Military and police had those superior arms before they were looted, what prevented them from using the arms in the first place?

The generals are still asking for more money to equip the army, with man power, arms, and who knows what. We know they have arms they are not using, they have long range surveillance equipments, they do not know how to use, and very soon, Boko Haram will seize those too when they find out where the equipments are lying fallow.

The generals know that money does not fight battles, people do. As long as they are afraid of empowering their men with education and the wherewithal to fight this battle, Boko Haram will continue to have the upper hand.

Day 107! ………………How Did We Get Here? (48)

The women are the ones now causing havoc amongst Boko Haram. They allow themselves to be laced with explosions and sent out to die, for what? For whom? With what promises? I know what the men who blow themselves up believe. What are they making the women believe? It cannot possibly be the same thing they believe. Perhaps they are forcing these women to kill themselves as the only option open to them in life. Or perhaps, these women chose to blow themselves up because they see that as the only option open to them. It must be one of these many reasons.

We know how women in Islam are regarded. We know how adherent of Islam will claim otherwise, but the truth is in what we see happening all over the world of Islam with women. No one can deny what we see. Strangely enough, we do not see the world of Islam denouncing openly the atrocities of their brothers and now sisters who are marauding the world and giving the world sleepless nights. Why are they not speaking out? Because they agree and condone the activities of these brothers and now sisters.

In the most, we hear them grumbling about the treatment they are receiving, the bad eyes they are given in public places, and generally the bad feeling they are getting from those around them. The world of Islam must speak out against the dastardly activities of their brothers and sisters around the world.

Day 106! ………………How Did We Get Here? (47)

Whoever is behind Boko Haram, whoever has dined and wined with them in the past must now know they ate with the devil. The rich and mighty in Nigeria believed they could use the poor and downtrodden to their own advantage, forgetting the poor devils are also humans who want fame, and dream of becoming rich and mighty. Today, these poor devils have tasted power and they do not want to be manipulated anymore. Today, they are acting against every rule, every instruction they were given. They are now on their own, making and following their own rules. Their mentors cannot stop them anymore, having lost control of them.

The sponsors of Boko Haram have lost sleep. They find themselves today in a deep hole they dug themselves, under constraint to continue their support of Boko Haram or be killed by Boko Haram. Look at the Cameroon, the country had for long allowed Boko Haram to use their territory to hide their loot. Today, they are on the receiving end. So also will Chad and Niger if they do not hurry up and tighten their borders.

Nigeria was slow in acting against Boko Haram, and now it seems Boka Haram has over-run a small part of the country. These other countries surrounding Nigeria, should not wait for Boko Haram to make more in-road into their countries. Members of Boko Haram are illiterate, ignorant, without feelings, merciless and murderous. They believe heaven awaits them, with their hands dripping with blood.

(We will continue.)

Day 105! ………………How Did We Get Here? (46)

Yesterday, I was telling those countries bothering Nigeria to be wary of Boko Haram and the intensions of the group who start by masquerading as friends but end up as foes. Today the news is out that Boko Haram has now intensified their incursions into the Cameroon, attacking, killing and kidnapping. They have even gone as far as kidnapping the wife of the Vice Premier of Cameroon and her house help, both women.

Very soon, Boko Haram will become a West African problem. This is because, if you are their friend today, and tomorrow speak out against their atrocities, whether you are their sponsor, god father, or the country that once supported them, they will turn ferociously against you. They do not like criticisms. You are either a friend or foe to them, a supporter, or one to be mauled down and savagely killed.

They are still in Nigeria. Their plan being that if they can bring Nigeria to her knees, Chad, Niger and Cameroon will be easy taking. Now that these three countries are teaming with Nigeria to wade off Boko Haram, these countries will now be getting a taste of Boko Haram’s high-handedness.

Once again, let me remind the world that the insurgency of the Islamic crusaders is spreading. Shall we stand by and watch them get out of control?

(We will continue.)

Day 104! ………………How Did We Get Here? (45)

Boko Haram is beginning to implode! Some of those we suspect are their sponsors and god fathers, who have now lost control of the imbeciles, who are since marauding beyond their mandates, are now on the run from their out of control monsters. It is the law of nature. What goes round, comes round. He that kills by the sword, dies by the sword. Only a few of them are now on the run, the rest will also be caught up in this deadly web that they have crafted. I suspect that they are now prisoners of their own making, prisoners in their homes, wondering when it will be their turn.

Boko Haram is now under the control of a more deadly affiliation which spurs them on, and makes them believe that they have a righteous cause, that makes them believe that they will die and go to heaven in clothes dripping with the blood of murdered innocents.

The Nigerian supporters may be dolling out the cash, but the push and instructions are coming from beyond Nigeria. In fact, they are now making serious incursions into those other countries bothering Nigeria. We hear about their fight with the Cameroonian army, who is resisting Boko Haram’s attempt in creating a safe heaven there. They have been in and out of Cameroon before, until Cameroon realized that these people are not friends, but foes.

The other countries bothering Nigeria, Chad and Niger who in the past gave them a free way are also finally realizing that Boko Haram is a foe, a common foe.

(We will continue.)

Day 103! ………………How Did We Get Here? (44)

Let me diverge a little today. I know for sure, that America, after the 911, has developed eyes everywhere that are watching, trailing and monitoring movements, actions, and even thoughts if she could, of all citizens in America and even beyond. We say in Nigeria, when criminals go undetected, when criminals are let free to commit the same crime again, when known criminals are allowed to compete and win elections, sometimes while still serving prison sentences, that this could only happen in Nigeria.

In the same vein, when we hear that a Nigerian has committed an offense in American, and is caught, we say that the criminal thinks that he is in Nigeria, where criminals almost, always go unpunished.
Yesterday, I wrote about the need for the world to keep a vigilant watch on the activities of the Islamic insurgency in the world, to control it now as it continues to spread, and today, when I read about a new group, deadlier than Al-Qaida, threatening the President of America, telling him that they are coming for him, my first thought was that, these are demented idiots! Do they think that America is their countries where crimes go undetected?

The abduction of our girls in Nigeria would have been swept under the carpet had it not gone global. It would have been business as usual in Nigeria. Thankfully, not this time.

(We will continue.)

Day 102! ………………How Did We Get Here? (43)

About time! It took Boko Haram’s incursions into countries bordering Nigeria for the government of those countries to realize that Boko Haram could end up not just being Nigeria’s problem. News has it that Boko Haram has gone into these countries and left behind their hallmarks, and these countries, Chad, Niger, and Cameroon have now teamed up with Nigeria to stop the marauders before they become too strong for their countries to handle. Something Nigeria should have done as soon as those ruffians reared their heads.

The important thing is that there is now an overwhelming feeling and assurance by all concerned with finding and freeing those girls, that they will not be forgotten, that they will be found and freed.

With neighboring countries to Nigeria, now closing in on Boko Haram, and with all the forces which we are told are on the ground also moving in on them, my prayer is that very soon, we should have cause for celebration. I pray that it will be really soon.

No member of the group should be allowed to escape when the times comes, so that they will never again regroup. The scourge of Islamic uprising and their spread throughout the world should be stopped. The world should not stand by and let this continue.

(We will continue.)

Day 101! ………………How Did We Get Here? (42)

When I read this morning that 9 Nigerian students have been abducted in Ukraine, I thought that someone was trying to crack a joke, but it is true. Nine Nigerian students have really been abducted in Ukraine, no explanations given, no reasons given. It baffles me how Nigerians can always find their way into every nook and corner of this world. There is nowhere you do not find them, and there is also no kind of trouble they do not get involved in. I don’t know why my people are such wondering and restless souls. Until we have more information about this new abduction, I will be left with just scratching my head and wondering.

Mr. Brown, the former Prime Minister of Britain, yesterday in his interview with Katie Couric assured us of efforts on the ground in Nigeria by many foreign countries who have now converged in search of the abducted girls. Most importantly, he said that the search will not stop until the girls are found and freed. This is the best news, from a former head of State that we can rely on. I could hear the urgency in his voice as he spoke, and that gives me the courage and momentum to continue harping on the disappearance of those girls.

The President of Nigeria also gave similar promises to the parents of the girls when he finally met with them, but I cannot rely on his promises. Anyone who took that long to right a wrong cannot be trusted, but let us wait and see what he does.

(We will continue.)

Day 100! ………………How Did We Get Here? (41)

The wait for the return of our girls is simply unbearable! If it feels that way to me, it must be hell for the parents of the girls. We hear that some of them are so overwhelmed that they are dying. The pain is excruciating!

I am encouraged this morning after listening to the interview of Katie Couric with Mr. Brown, the former Prime Minister of Britain, to learn that the fate of our girls will never be forgotten until they return. This has been my stand and belief all along. So, it is very comforting to know that the world is now paying a serious attention to the problem of Boko Haram in Nigeria, that the world is now seeing this problem as part of a global problem for girls.

Although Boko Haram, in their wildest dream, cannot stop education, especially education for girls, they must not be allowed to disrupt it. It is ignorance that makes a group of illiterates think that denying women education will make them super humans able to subjugate women, because that’s all there is to it, the subjugation of women. It is sad to watch these men who have turned into blood thirsty animals, men with little or no education, men who do not know the value of education, maraud about killing, destroying, and claiming to destroy something they do not even understand.

The girls will be rescued, and Boko Haram will be destroyed. That is the only sane way that this whole drama should end.

(We will continue.)

Day 99! ………………How Did We Get Here? (40)

Each morning, I wake up, and scan the news papers hoping that it will be the day that I will fire off the fireworks in celebration for the return of our girls. Each morning, I find instead more sad news about the exploits of Boko Haram. Now that they are getting a lot of notice, now that they know that the whole world is watching them, they want to let the world know that they are invincible. Today we hear that they have sacked and taken over a whole village, a village emptied by them as all the villager were either killed or escaped into bushes and neighboring towns. They have hoisted their black flag at this captured town. So now what?

People are gradually describing Boko Haram’s violence in Nigeria and against Nigerians as Nigeria’s war, instead of what it really is. Nigeria is experiencing an invasion, and incursion of some militant elements from outside Nigeria into Nigeria. So far, the Nigerian Military has shown weakness in dealing with this invading marauders, a situation which is inexcusable under any circumstance. The big security bosses are so desensitized because of their enormous corruption and false sense of power that they think they are above scrutiny.

These corrupt and myopic leaders cannot not see the danger at the door. Little by little the invaders are chipping off the Nigerian territory for themselves, and still they do not see the need to jump into action and stop this new turn of events before it gets out of control.

(We will continue.)
