Day 193! ………………How Did We Get Here? (144)

“We’ll help Nigeria rescue Chibok girls –Israeli envoy”

I don’t know what to think about this new help that is being offered. Others before Israel has offered help that never materialized, so I don’t know whether to rejoice or to remain skeptical. Until I begin to see concrete results of this new offered help, I will remain calm, and watch.

“Still no trace of 200 kidnapped girls in Nigeria”

A man who claims to be Abubaker Shekau, the notorious leader of Boko Haram continues to make appearances and brag about his exploits. His claim about marrying the girls off is another brag, just a brag. We had known for long that the girls will not escape abuse from the hands of Boko Haram, so telling us now that they have been married off is to cover-up what we already know. What the so called Shekau doesn’t know or doesn’t want to admit is that no matter what they do, those girls will never belong to them. Their captivity will surely come to an end, as long as there is a God.

“Boko Haram: Nigeria not helpless, says CDS”

The CDS, don’t ask me what CDS stands for, continues to assure us that Nigeria is safe. We are not talking about safe from ebola, we are talking about safe from Boko Haram. In the face of all we know about Boko Haram, this man wants us to believe that Nigeria is safe?

“Tambuwal has right to defect —Sagay”

This story is about the sit-tight house speaker who defected from his party to another one while still sitting on his old party’s elected spot. The praise singers are out singing his praises and urging him not to resign. This is another of Nigeria’s style of doing things. We have not heard the last of this.

(We will continue.)

Day 192! ………………How Did We Get Here? (143)

“Mubi battle: Army arrests six senior officers for fleeing”

The problem with our Military is that they have not experienced real war. Their training and make-believe war games, were simply games that even little children play, bloodless, maybe some scratches, but no real wounds from a real warfare. Now that they are faced with a real war situation, what do they do? They abscond for dear life. What a pity! I have repeatedly said, in the past, that Nigeria does not have a Military. Those we have there now are self serving, and not patriotic, and not wanting to die for the country. The whole Military should be overhauled and re-constituted if Nigeria will survive, otherwise, we will continue to experience the same scene of run-away soldiers, in the face of danger.

“Boko Haram: Resign now, CAN tells NSA, Defence Minister”

Thank God, at last, another voice has risen to the call for some high-up persons in charge of the Military, as well as the Minister of Defense to resign. This should have taken place long ago, as soon as those girls were taken, and for as long as they have remained captive. Someone should have taken responsibility for all the failed missteps, but no, they sat on their seats in their air conditioned offices, and continued to bungle everything. Let us hope that more voices will rise against these sit-tight, good for nothing leaders who do not know their job, and will not let those who know, do the job.

Day 191! ………………How Did We Get Here? (142)

“What now after Nigeria’s Boko Haram ceasefire fiasco?”

If there were ever a ceasefire, because Boko Haram says there was non, and I tend to believe them, the Nigerian government should realize how gullible they are to believe that Boko Haram could ever agree to release those girls without a fight. I don’t know what the government is waiting for to go all out and destroy those senseless killers. President Jonathan is a big disappointment! The more he waits to come up with the Boko Haram’s solution, the later it will become. Please, can someone advise that man?! Tell him what to do?!!

“Suicide blast kills 23 in Nigeria, prison attack frees 144”

For Boko Haram, it is business as usual, in total disregard of public opinion. Why should they care?

“I Cry For Thee My Country.”

Day 191! ………………How Did We Get Here? (142)

“Nigerian rebels deny plans to release schoolgirls: report”

If I was stunned yesterday about the news that Boko Haram has married off the Chibok girls, I am not surprised about their denial of ever promising to release the girls. Everyone knows how important holding those girls is to them. That was the one single act that brought their bloody activities to world notice, and we think they will let go? To think that, is to believe that Boko Haram has a heart. I have already advocated that the Military should swoop in on them and destroy them, once and for all, girls or no girls. This cat and dog game is sick and should end now. What kind of life can we call the one these girls are living? How can anyone think that they are living? If it is true that they have been married off to the scoundrels, unless it is a ploy to divert attention and prolong matters, or to pre-empt the condition of those girls when they are finally released, then we should consider them dead. I honestly believe that those girls have been badly and severely abused, and the news about marrying them off is only a cover up. We know what Boko Haram is capable of doing. We have seen what they do. We must never believe that they will hand those girls over without a fight. To believe this is to be in denial.

“Mass Nigerian kidnappings grab investors’ attention”

Boko Haram does not care what happens to Nigeria’s economy. Not when they are destroying and burning anything that stood in their way, homes, churches, properties, and even mosques. By the time this is over Bornu State will be in complete shambles. Let us just make sure it does not extend beyond Bornu.

(We will continue.)

Day 190! ………………How Did We Get Here? (141)

This latest news is shocking to say the least. I don’t know what to say or think of it. Below are the headings and excerpts from some of the news. I will let you all make whatever you like out of these. I have to retreat and recharge. Tactical retreat, I call it, to give me time to make something out of it myself. All I know is this, it not over yet.

“Missing Nigerian schoolgirls ‘married off’”

In a previous statement the group’s leader threatened to sell the girls as slave brides and also suggested that he would be prepared to release them in exchange for Boko Haram prisoners.
“We have married them off. They are in their marital homes,” he added.Ceasefire claims denied
Shekau also said the group was holding a German national and denied they had agreed to a ceasefire, describing the Nigerian government statement as a lie. He also appeareed to rule out future talks.

“Nigeria families of kidnapped girls shocked at marriage claims by Boko Haram militants”

Who wouldn’t be?

(We will continue.)

Day 189! ………………How Did We Get Here? (140)

“Rebels chase troops from northeast Nigerian towns”

The insiders have done it again. They tell Boko Haram when to strike for greater impact, and that time is usually when the soldiers are most vulnerable. As usual, they go in, ransack and loot Military and Police armory. If this is not frustrating, I don’t know what is. We have heard supporters of Boko Haram say that if President Jonathan is re-elected, Boko Haram will extend their bloody activities to the whole country. I am one of those who believe that if President Jonathan wants to continue his rule, he should first of all sack Boko Haram and get the Chibok girls released. Anything less will be a smack on our faces, and a clear disregard of public opinion, and with the resulting consequences of course.

“Feeling ‘Snubbed’ By the US, Nigeria Turns to Russia”

I have asked myself that question several times; why the US and Britain are paying lip service to Nigeria with regard to Boko Haram. I know we are bad, really bad people, but this is really not about the government of Nigeria, the president, or the military. This is about the suffering people of Nigeria, the silent majority, as we often say in Nigeria. Don’t we deserve to be saved from the hands of these blood thirsty marauders? Or is this scourge flung at us by the US and Britain, remote controlled, again as we say in Nigeria? Is it possible that the US and Britain, comrades in crime, as we say again in Nigeria, are secretly allowing this to happen, and hoping that Nigeria will eventually dis-integrate. Silence in the face of evil is acquiescence.

(We will continue.)

Day 188! ………………How Did We Get Here? (139)

“Tambuwal: We ‘ll regain Speaker’s seat, PDP vows”

This defector has still not resigned, and he is already conniving on how he will stay on his post. According to him, his new party will win the elections, and he will retain his seat. He is not a politician, or should I say, he is a Nigerian politician in a country where anything goes. If Nigeria were as civilized as we claim to be, will that man ever be elected to any post again? He knows that unless he is forced out by armed soldiers, who will physically take him out of his seat, he will not budge. I hope they do just that. The man does not want to go to the end of the line and start from the beginning. Someone should tell him that when you defect, you start all over.

“UPDATE: Tambuwal’s security details withdrawn”

It would seem that the government has put some plan into action to force the man out. He must resign and re-apply. That is the way things should be for both the high and low. Let us keep a keen watch as the events unfold to see how this imbroglio ends.

“SHEIK GUMI THREATENS NIGERIA WITH REAL BOKO HARAM, IF JONATHAN IS RE-ELECTED”

When I saw the name “Sheik Gum” I made a double flip with my head. His father was the originator of all Muslim unrests in Nigeria. Like father, like son, someone said. Well, he can threaten all he wants, but he should never forget how it ended with his father, because it will end the same way with him.

(We will continue.)

Day 187! ………………How Did We Get Here? (138)

“A month ago, ISIS’s advance looked unstoppable. Now it’s been stopped.”

This news is very heartening. The world cannot standby and watch a gang of outlaws brag about taking over the whole world, and allow them to do it. I have alway stressed that people mightier than those murderers have tried in the past to take over the world and failed. More will try again in the future, and will fail because we never learn from history. I pray that ISIS and Boko Haram, as well as those who sponsor them, will be wiped out from the face of the Earth, that members of suck groups will not be given a fair trial in the courts of law, that their trial will be by fire and brimstone, just as they did to their captives, and to women and children, that if they are tried, it will be by a jury of all women, especially women that have been through hell in their hands.

“Defection: PDP asks Tambuwal to resign”

Nigeria will never stop showing her ugly side to the world. This was a man that was elected, sorry, chosen on the platform of a party that gave him his job as speaker of the House, who without resigning from his party, defected to another party, still sitting on the job, a post that belongs to the party he deserted, and waiting to be told to resign. Shouldn’t he have resigned before defecting? Next, we will hear that he is refusing to resign, and if he glares his eyes enough, he will be left alone to keep his job. We have a crazy country of very crazy and sick people.

“Negotiations still on to release Chibok girls — FG”

We continue to hope so, and to pray so.

Day 186! ………………How Did We Get Here? (137)

“Nigeria says violence does not threaten Boko Haram talks to free girls”

Okay, let us continue to believe, hope and pray that this is true. May the talks never fail. Please God, may it never fail. Let the result culminate in the release of the girls.

“Kidnapped women ‘used by Boko Haram on front line’: rights group”

This is no surprise at all. It has always been the modus operandi of all the Islamic trouble makers. They hit, and then take cover behind women and children, the cowards!
They kill and maim, but they do not like to die. They hide their identities, and yet claim to be men. I wish that Muslim women will rise and claim their rights and shame their overbearing and cowardly men. Men who treat women like objects, like chattels.

“Nigeria’s Boko Haram forces kidnapped girls into marriage: Human Rights
Watch”

These murderers should know, or should be told that any forced marriage is no marriage. When, eventually, those women, forced into such ungodly marriages, regain their freedom, they will also be free from the shackles of such marriages. All is sham, Boko Haram is a sham.

(We will continue.)

Day 185! ………………How Did We Get Here? (136)

“Botched ceasefire with B’Haram damaging FG credibility – NHRC”

The intrigues surrounding the release of these girls is beginning to create new monsters. To think that some people are using this tragedy to enrich themselves is unthinkable. We hear that there are now many people claiming to have direct contact with Boko Haram because of the money involved, people wanting money to go through them to Boko Haram, but money that never gets to their destination. Boko Haram we hear is also changing their demands by the day, and so it is difficult to please them. An agreement was reached to release the girls last Tuesday which was botched. Another has been reached for today Monday which we know will also be botched. It’s a run around!

“At least 17 killed in suspected Boko Haram attack in Nigeria”

Boko Haram is back to business as usual. Who says that they were ready to deal? Their actions are telling us exactly what they are thinking of the whole ceasefire masquerading. It is a merry go round. If they release the Chibok girls , then the government will be expected to negotiate the release of the newly abducted girls, and so forth, and so on. Who has time for that, to play with lives like that?

“Chibok Girls: How conflicting security reports scuttled ceasefire deal”

Right now, we don’t know who to trust or believe about this problem. Too many people are out there compounding the issue. Boko Haram is also playing these groups against each other, and using the confusion to delay the release of the girls. President Jonathan should open his eyes and take control of the situation.

(We will continue.)
